This is my contest entry for *akreon and =tanathe's Off-White comic contest. c:
I knew from the begining I wanted to do cougars if I couldn't do wolves, but I couldn't figure out for the life of me what to make them represent. >.< I went through all sorts of ideas, but none really made sense. So I was completely finished with the dark spirit before I finally found it: Compassion and Cruelty. Cougar mothers represent both of these. The mother is highly protective of her young, and because of this, is not afraid to spill the blood of other creatures.
I never really intended to give them names, but as I was drawing them, the dark spirit became Vulcan and the white spirit became Diana.
Anywho, enjoy!

Good one! You've got the right idea - sometimes you just have to start drawing....before you're even sure exactly what the total picture will be. Lots of times inspiration comes while you're in the middle of something and wasn't really sure where you were headed
