Deer Hunting 2For an autumn day the sun was shining extremely brightly, which was good hopes the large group of tokota's padding along the forest today would be able to successfully hunt a deer today. Setka was with them, making sure everything went well and helping out if the need arouse. Of course, everyone had high spirits and where of the mind that nothing would go wrong. The light filtered in through the tree's and everything smelled like autumn. the leaves where green on the conifers, but all colors of sunset on the leafy tree's. Of the course the tree's would one day be barren as winter steadily approached and the wind became colder and colder. All of them could feel the cold on their noses, and the dew on the grass was as cold as snow under paw. There was a fog when they had left this morning, but by now it had risen and they could see the sky above them minus the few clouds that floated above. They hardly looked like storm clouds though, so the pack focused on hunting.

Exploring...Autumn was full on now, the wind came with sunset leaves that had long since blown of the tree’s, flying through the air. The sky was bright and blue, and the sun was shining brilliantly in the sky. However, unlike the previous months, the sunshine hardly brought with it the warmth that came in summer time. With the sunshine now came a bitter cold, a harder time, speaking to the oncoming winter. The grass under the paws of the tokota’s who were travelling today was cold with dew and frost of the early morning, something that would no doubt melt off later in the day but it made the first paw steps out into the morning butter, but in a refreshing kind of way. Follow Raincutter | Exploration Early morning sun shawn with a brilliance, casting a warm glow on the early autumn morning. The first frost made the grass sparkle, despite it being cold on the pads of those who took on the bitter cold morning. Winter was certainly approaching, the leaves that were still on the tree’s were all colours of the sunset, and most of them by now lay scattered on the ground instead. The pine tree’s were the only few that stood large and tall now, with their needles that never shed onto the ground. Help the Dire This had been a terrible idea, but Setka was a stubborn one once she decided her mind was made up. This was one of those moments. She had decided that it would be even better if she could take these tokota’s home to their handlers during the night, rather than the next morning, because then she would have the whole day to return and get the other stuff she needed to do at the tribe done. . . or spent the day sleeping off how hard the last few days had been, whatever works. So, here she was, with Kalt’s, Rex, and Odysses. The world around them was dark, as the night sky was a moonless one with nothing but the glittering stars to guide them. Tree’s were not bright green but instead simply dark silhouettes against this night sky, almost eery if you were the type to be easily unsettled, of which Setka was not. The day was chilly with clear skies and a sharp, biting wind, but no one at the festival paid it any mind. Everyone was bustling with a warmth that only came this time of year, when the leaves were changing colors, heated drinks were passed from hand to hand, and the bounty was plentiful. Tokotas and their handlers were scattered all around the fairgrounds. Some were helping to set up tents for activities and more booths for food and trinkets, some were causing mischief, and others were wandering the event, taking in the sights and smells and trying to decide how they could help ensure that Aippaq was well-pleased with the celebrations.

Little Red Hen - SSWWc Fall Harvest/ExploringThe day was approaching its end and there was still work to be done. It was safe to say Grig was tried. His back ached, his stump was sore as all get out, and he didn’t even want to think about his feet. He was about ready to chop them off with his only remaining hand. But the physical exhaustion didn’t quite stand up to the social fatigue. He wasn’t accustomed to being surrounded by people all day. Back home his only companion was his wife and he preferred it that way. Once he had been able to tolerate the company of others but looking back he couldn’t quite remember how.
It wasn’t the people of Wallcity’s fault. They were enjoyable and in good cheer even in the face of winter. They hustled and bustled… He was feeling tired again just thinking about it. Exploring | The ForestIt was a large group today. Setka was out with Kibwe and Anraka. The really gorgeous Katt had taken her equally as stunning tokota Kaltz along for the ride with his snowshoe hare companion. Niomey and Shelly had again decided to come out with Odysseus and Rex, who had a stoat and a reindeer companion respectively. Then, at the back of the group this time was Raincutter, whose handler had left her in Setka’s care after something had come up very last minute. All in all, this made for a very large group indeed once you counted all the tokota’s, handlers and companions heading out exploring today. Everyone could feel that the days were getting shorter, the nights longer and seemingly darker, and the celebration of halloween approaching ever closer. More and more, tokota’s were seen with hand paints and items of all sizes as they and their handlers prepared. The Search for Selsorium Part OneIt was early in the morning, but that would be to all of their advantage if they wanted to be able to get as much exploring in as they all hoped. So, despite the mist that hung low to the ground and the rain that fell lightly from the grey cloudy sky above their heads they got their tokota’s ready and started to head out. They had planned for searching for a rare sight that Hazel had read about in a book: a flower called Selsorium. Apparently, if you saw it at the right time, its petals unfurled to show a glowing sheath within. Hazel had been reading on this extensively, getting the rest of her friends that travelled with her today excited, till they finally figured today was the day if they wanted to see it at the perfect time. The Search Part 2Morning light filtered in the tents, showing that the new day was upon them and it was ready to get going up the mountain. Outside of the tent birds of all kinds let their morning songs fill the sky, waking the handlers and their tokota’s from their deep sleep. The night had been uneventful, a thing that the travellers were grateful for. Getting this far had been hard enough, the sleep had done them well. Now, they could be refreshed and ready for the actual trek up the mountain to explore its inner ridges and rocky paths in the search for the flower.

The morning had started off peacefully, for the most part.
